We met as just friends over 16 years ago. Hung out with a lot of the same people, attended concerts, and floated the river numerous times. Nothing more came of it and we stayed friends never losing full contact.

Fast forward 14 years. I was going through a divorce and we had started talking a little more regular but still mainly as friends. That was up until New Year’s Eve 2021. It was snowing something horrible. I had attended a small get together with my coworkers for an hour or so and was getting ready to go back home…… when my phone lit up and it was Brandon. He asked what I was doing and I informed him that I was getting ready to head home. He then asked if I wanted to come up and hang out with him and his parents. I agreed and well the rest is history. By the strike of 12 Brandon and I had decided to give it a go as a couple.

Well for one, this was the best birthday surprise a girl could ask for! Not only were we on vacation in Mesquite/Las Vegas for my 35th birthday, but my best friend, lover, protector, partner in crime, my soulmate asked me to be his wife. It was a perfect proposal in my eyes. Just he and I together, deciding how to spend my special day together and with a slight pause he asked, while placing the ring on my finger. Talk about being on cloud 9 for hours and even days, honestly. Of course I said Yes and to celebrate we headed to Vegas for an amazing day of celebrating and making memories.
